Sridhar Tayur is an Academic Capitalist and Philanthropist: University Professor at Carnegie Mellon University; Founder of the software company SmartOps (acquired by SAP) and the social enterprise OrganJet; an investor in startups and venture capital. His charity, RAGS Family Foundation, funds documentaries (WBCN and The American Revolution, Journey to Normal, Virulent: The Vaccine War), independent film festivals, higher education (CMU, IIT-Madras), medical research, microfinancing and programs combating human trafficking.
